WORX WG788 19-Inch 36 Volt Cordless 3-In-1 Lawn Mower With Removable Battery IntelliCut Reviews
Got my Worx WG788 today. Box wasn't real big. It was fairly compact. Opened it up and it seemed packed well and secure. Nothing to really assemble, just snap the handle in place and tighten the lower clamps. Battery needs to be plugged in too. One of the prongs on the plug to the battery was bent, and I had to use a pliers to straighten it.br /br /Battery has the charge indicator on it and when in the machine it shows through a well fitting hole in the battery cover so you can press the button and check the charge either in or out of the machine. Came with 3 lights of charge (Full) but quickly went to 2 lights. Not too bad. Still plenty to test it out. The charger plugs right into the battery, so if you charge it in the machine, you will have to leave the battery cover door open. The charger has a red and green light on it. Red is charging, Green is when done. Then, according to instructions, charger shuts off 5 sec after done, then periodically turns back on as needed, to keep battery at full charge. The instructions say you can leave it plugged in all the time and not damage the battery. So easy. This is a great feature, and was one of the MAIN selling points for me.br /br /I put the handle on the highest setting to see if it would come loose and pop out of position as in Cowboy from the Cape's review, but found it to be too high for me anyway, so didn't even bother to test it. Mid setting feels good. I like the cushion lined handle. Very comfortable. Handle folds very easy. Just press a button.br /br /The Key is in the shape of the start button and fits right over the button, so when in use you can't even tell there is a key in it. Kind of nice esthetically.br /br /When I started it the first time, it was in "Power" mode. Not too loud. Then I put it to "Quiet", and it got so quiet, I wondered if it would in fact cut any grass at all. To my delight and relief , it cut the grass very well in "Quiet". My grass was pretty dry though. I put it back into "Power" mode to further test and it is noticeablely louder, but still much quieter than a gas mower. I like knowing that I have the option to pore the coals to the fire. I could also hear the intellicut working. When I would transition from grass onto the sidewalk, I could hear the motor spool back down a little indicating that it was boosting power a little on the grass. (I had the deck set pretty low for testing).br /br /The machine seems pretty light, and I had no problem maneuvering it around from a weight standpoint. Similar to the gas one it replaces. However, here comes the reason for 4 stars and not 5. As mentioned in another review, when you lift up on the handle and put the weight on the front wheels to swing the back end around, it bends the frame enough to cause the blade to come into contact with the deck. I flipped it over and could see the cut in the plastic deck. I did some testing and conclude that it only happens on the right side because that is the side with the hole for the "side discharge chute". The lack of material weakens that particular side of the deck enough to allow it to distort from an upward load. I found that if I have to do that maneuver, I can put a little bit of a left twisting force on the handle while pulling up and it prevents the contact. Either way that is my biggest complaint. br /br /Now just a few closing tid bits. The wheels are actually rubber and not plastic as I feared. Nice. I did notice that it took more time to cover the same area due to the narrow deck, (as expected) but honestly, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.br /br /In conclusion, I'm very glad I made the purchase. The machine has so many more features than the competition and for a similar price to a lot of them. And, at the end of the day, the most important thing is that it cuts grass very well. Amazon said it should get here between the 15th and the 18th, I got it on the 14th. Icing on the cake.br /br /I will update if I encounter any problems. These are just my initial thoughts.

A quick review on the Worx Cordless Mower - Louis Brook -
After spending a number of hours researching and reading an abundance of reviews both at Amazon and elsewhere I decided to go for it any buy the Worx WG788 19in 36volt cordless mower. To start, the mower arrived exactly as promised by Amazon within two days. Outstanding. The setup out of the box was generally simple, just a question of lifting it out of the box, extending the handle and tightening the attaching hardware, all with no tools necessary, simply hand tightening. The battery, weighing about twenty something pounds was already two-thirds charged though I decided to fully charge it overnight. There's nothing to it to turn it on and it literally sounds like a large fan that's running. No smells, untoward vibrations or unusual sounds. It's relatively easy to push, except if you're pushing up a relatively steep incline and even then it's not that bad. I previously had been cutting the lawn with a new but old-fashioned scissor-reel type push from behind mower, covering about 7000 square feet of property. It was back breaking! The Worx mower made it feel like I was on vacation, just pushing it around easily and watching it cut the grass without a single problem, mulching as it went along. You should note that there is no apparent separate attachment for mulching in that the default for the mower is that it mulches from the start. I cut the grass on the regular setting as opposed to the power setting with no problems. As noted the mower easily cut through the 7000 square feet and only consumed about one-third of the available battery power! It was great. The only down side I could see was in the instruction manual that accompanied the mower. It is essentially good for nothing and should be rewritten. It has spelling and grammatical errors that does not inspire confidence and causes you to doubt about the purchase as the custom is to read the manual before operating the product. That said, the machine worked flawlessly and I would not hesitate to recommend it without reservation. The company needs to desperately rewrite the instruction manual and make it more understandable and user friendly. By the way, the lawn never looked better as it finally was evenly cut by this machine and with a tenth of the physical energy I had expended on the manual push from behind mower. I hope this has been helpful. It's a great product.
